Community Outreach
City Church Nowra runs a variety of outreach programs in our local community. These programs focus on the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of people in the Nowra community who are less fortunate or experiencing hardship.
Food Bus
Our Food Bus outreach runs every Thursday night, visiting 4 different locations throughout the Nowra/Bomaderry local area. Our volunteer teams consists of around 10 people who cook and connect with local people. Their focus is to develop connections and cohension within our local community. Our Food Bus distributes over 5,000 meals per year to people in need. Our Food Bus has been operating for over 10 years in the Shoalhaven Community.
5.00pm – 5.45pm Terara Caravan Park
6.00pm – 6.45pm Parramatta Park, East Nowra
Food Store
At City Church Care, our Food Store offers a range of dry and frozen goods at heavily discounted prices. Our Food Store team consists of 4 people, they assist customers with shopping, taking groceries to their car and giving them an opportunity to talk and connect.
Our Food Store is available for anyone in our local community and is open every Friday between 9.30am and 4pm. Enquiries are always welcome on 02 4421 4602.
Food & Christmas Hampers
Each year we produce and distribute over 100 Christmas hampers and over 150 emergancy food hampers to people in our local community. These hampers are provided to people that are experiencing financial hardship, mental disorders, or health complications.

Young Women’s Program
Our SHINE program runs in local high schools and focuses on at risk teenage girls. This program is a unique group mentoring tool that runs weekly during the school term. Nine girls are choosen by the school to attend the program each term. Our SHINE program allows us to build resilence and positive mental health with young women in our local community.
Our SHINE team consists of 3 volunteers, all of which have an active NSW Working with Children Check.
School Scripture Program
Each week our team runs a scripture program in a local public school. Scripture gives us an opportunity to teach young children about Christian values and concepts. This program builds connection with the young children in our local area, with many of them attending our childrens’ church program during our Sunday services.
